The Holiday Rush Comes to a Close

December was an incredibly busy month for Lambs Farm. Between the 32nd Annual Lambs Farm Holiday Lights Gift & Craft Fair, Breakfast with Santa, and catalog orders, there wasn’t a spare minute to be found!

Perusing some “grab ‘n’ go” items

For the third year in a row, the gift and craft fair took place at the Arlington Park Racecourse in Arlington Heights. Coordinated by Tower Show Productions, the number of vendors at the craft fair increased from 322 in 2011 to 356 in 2012! All of the vendor spaces filled by mid-November; the first floor sold out in March. Some crafters were still inquiring about vendor booths the week of the fair! The weather was unseasonably warm this year, encouraging shoppers to get out of the house and cross gifts off of their lists. Attendance increased at the craft with more than 13,000 shoppers this year!

A winning entry

For this year’s Breakfast with Santa, Lambs Farm offered a unique experience. A coloring contest was held for kids aged 0 to 12 years. One winner was selected from each age category (0 to 3 years, 4 to 6 years, 7 to 9 years, 10 to 12 years), to join Santa at a very special Breakfast with Santa seating. On Saturday, December 15 at 8 a.m., the coloring contest winners and their families sat down with Santa to feast upon a delicious buffet. At breakfast, the guests asked Santa many questions. Being a jolly old elf, Santa was more than happy to share information about the North Pole and his travels on Christmas Eve.

Santa signs certificates

Each winner received a special certificate with their coloring page and a message from Santa. The certificate was signed by Santa as the winners looked on. Also, Santa autographed photos for each family. The children who won the coloring contest also received a special gift from Santa encouraging their artistic side. And to make sure each child from all of the winners’ families was included, Santa gave a small gift and an extra large Christmas tree sand art bottle to the girls and boys. Smiles were in abundance at this private seating.

As for the catalog season, phones were constantly ringing in the Marketing department with customers placing orders for cookies, chocolates and more. The bakery produced some 20,000 little butter cookies EACH WEEKDAY to fulfill the orders. This number reflects all the butter cookie flavors offered at Lambs Farm: famous butter, peanut butter, lemon butter and double chocolate chip. More than 4,000 packages left our shipping dock between December 1 and December 21. That’s over 260 packages each business day! While the staff and Participants are pleased to have brought holiday cheer to so many people, they are all happy to return to a slightly slower work pace.Don’t forget, you can order from our gift catalog all year round! There are also seasonal gifts available for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s day, as well as special event favors. Visit our Shop page throughout the year to view our wide array of products.
