Ann Bigger, a dedicated Lambs Farm
staff member, has been an avid cyclist for a number
of years. She often rides her bike to work and uses
her free time to travel across the Midwest’s numerous
bike trails. This spring, Ann will be embarking on quite
an adventure. Ann will be riding her bike across the
United States to raise money for Lambs Farm while participating
with Esperanza Ride 2008. The 4,000 mile ride begins
in Seattle, Washington on June 15th and ends in New
York City on August 9th.
Ann has taught Quest classes at Lambs Farm for the
past six years and hopes to involve her students as
she is cycling across the United States. While participating
in this 60 day ride, a substitute instructor will be
teaching Ann’s weekly Travel and Hiking/Camping
classes. Ann will be keeping a web journal which the
class will be able to access. They will be able to follow
her ride by using maps, reading from her journal and
seeing the photos she takes along the way.
In a letter Ann wrote to her family and friends, she
stated “I am asking you to make an extra special,
generous donation to Lambs Farm and partake in my fundraiser.”
Ann will be encouraging her friends, family and co-workers
to donate money to Lambs Farm in her name, in honor
of her lengthy journey. She would also like to ask you
to support her and Lambs Farm.
Ann’s other goal for her cycling adventure is
to spread Lambs Farm’s mission to the people she
will meet along her journey. This isn’t just a
ride to reach a personal goal, and she says, “
My message to the people I meet will be, I’m a
53 year old grandma, living life fully, just as the
Participants of Lambs Farm are able to do through the
generous donations of others.” All donations made
in honor of Ann will help provide valuable support for
our programs and services.
