Lambs Farm is pleased to welcome groups of all sizes to help with ongoing needs including maintenances, landscaping and painting, as well as special projects. Volunteer opportunities can be customized to meet your needs, abilities and availabilities.

Ongoing Individual and Special Project Opportunities

Farmyard Assistant
The Farmyard needs your help during the fall season (September & October) with the following:
Saturdays and/or Sundays – this would be on a rotating schedule and wouldn’t be in any one spot for more than an hour at a time.

  • operating the carousel (take tickets, run ride safely)
  • operating the hay station (take tickets, provide feed bags, make feed bags)
  • manning the SAP (small animal pen) or Discovery Center (holding animals for customers to pet)

Magnolia Cafe & Bakery
Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Help as a greeter, wait staff or busser at our friendly Magnolia Cafe & Bakery. Volunteers wear a white shirt, black pants and comfortable shoes.

Gardeners wanted! Volunteers are needed to tend to the gardens, flowers and plants at Lambs Farm.

Help with general cleaning duties at our residences. Flexible hours and days.

(Minimum age is 18)
Volunteers are needed to assist instructors in a wide variety of classes and activities for Participants. Three-month weekly commitment required.

Recreation/Special Olympics
(Minimum age is 18)

Volunteers must be patient, enthusiastic and caring, and athletically minded. Physical education or special education instructors are encouraged to explore this opportunity. You will work with our teams during practice and at competition.

Cedar Chest Thrift Shop
Daily, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Help sort, tag and place items in our wonderful thrift shop. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Hours are flexible.

Human Rights Committee Member
Volunteers are needed to be part of our Human Rights Committee. Meetings are held monthly, usually the second Tuesday of the month, from 1:30-3:00pm. Committee members review any rights complaints, proposed restrictive interventions and medications prescribed to manage behaviors. Committee members can have no other affiliation with Lambs Farm, but some experience with people with disabilities is helpful.

Quality Assurance
Lambs Farm’s Quality Assurance department is seeking a volunteer with strong knowledge of and programming experience using Microsoft Access/SQL databases. This individual will support the department by filtering and “cleaning” data, and reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems; writing queries and reports; and organizing, analyzing significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
